My Raspberry Pi Projects…
Time Lapse Photography
Status: Started, and having fun!
Summary: A simple project to use a Raspberry Pi with the Pi Camera to capture regular still images of, say my street, over a period of many hours and then stitch them together into a movie.
Details:
Using a Raspberry Pi Model B v2 and a Pi Camera. Running the latest Raspbian OS and Python v2.7.
My Python program is largely based upon what I found in the Raspberry Pi Learning resource.
In a nutshell…
At a terminal prompt:“sudo apt-get install python-picamera python3-picamera”
Create a “Capture” folder in the Pi User home folder.
Using IDLE, create this simple Python program.
Run the program via F5 in IDLE and watch!
Stitch the images together into a movie. I used my Win8.1 laptop and the Images to Video software.
Next steps… Get a USB HDD for my Raspberry Pi and set the program up to run for a lot longer!
RasPi Setup and Headless Access
Here is the simple setup and headless access recipe that I use… Enjoy!
